On 11 of march I had protected sex with a sex worker, Condom at the end was fine. I didn't do anything risky. After two weeks I had my blood tested. HIV, Hepatits Negative. Then I had fungal infection on sides. I wen to doctor and It disappeared after 10 days. Then I had my mouth burned with hot tea and ulcers started to develop in on my tongue. After 6 weeks I had my blood tested again. Negative. Also for two weeks I had pain in back of my knees. Then the last symptoms that I have is again tongue ulcer with no reason, pain in my neck very close to lympha nodes also back of my neck. Doctor told me my lymphs in the neck are swollen and when I push them hard they ache. also in groin I feel some pain but when I push them , I don't feel pain. I ve been under sever endless stress for the last two month, and this time badly scared to test my blood. The thing which scares me the most is thos swollen lymphs and ulcers. can you tell me if I need another blood test or am fine with two tests.
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I think you are safe in terms of HIV for 2 reasons; you had a protected sex and moreover your 6 weeks test was negative, which almost rules out HIV. However a 12 weeks screening test is required to be taken as final. One possibility that I would like to keep for recurrent oral ulcers is canker sores; stress may be a contributory factor. The lymph nodes are most probably reactive (due to canker cores). If I was the treating doctor I would have started you on an Oral B complex vitamin supplement once daily for 2-4 weeks. Daily antiseptic mouth washes would help in addition. A repeat screening test for HIV at 12 weeks can be taken up and as a conclusive evidence. Most likely it would turn out as negative.
