Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain you are on multiple medications and the dry mouth is due to side effect of medicines that you are taking as Lipitor, Lsartin and Bistolic are all the three that causes dry mouth as a side effect and as you are taking multiple medications dry mouth is a cumulative effect of all of these..
Persistent dry mouth can lead to oral infections as well as atrophy of oral mucosal surfaces of mouth leading to inflammation and swollen taste buds can also be due to inflammation..
You should consult your treating physician and explain the immediate symptoms and the physician will evaluate you clinically and can alter the dose of certain medicines so that the dry mouth can be relieved..

FOR DRY MOUTH:
Chew sugarfree chewing gums as they help in stimulating saliva flow..
Artificial saliva agents are available with pharmacy stores that can be instilled multiple times in mouth for lubrication..
Drink plenty of water.

FOR INFLAMED PAPILLA:
Do warm saline gargles.
Sucking ice pops and cold water rinses can help..
Maintain a good oral hygiene..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
