What Causes Swollen Right Leg,ankle And Upper Foot?
I have been on HP Acthar now for 3 months, I am also currently on 22 other medications for multiple autoimmune issues as well. Anyway I have had a swollen right lower leg , ankle and upper foot only for almost a month now. No one seems to know the cause. At first my Heart Doctor was looking at a possible blood clot so he had a ultrasound done on both my legs which only went down just below the knees because the tech said the machine wouldn t read down any further than that anyway. Heart Doctor said test looked good and told me to inquire with my Rheumatologist which I did, his response was he s doing everything they possibly can at this time for my conditions. But I still have NO IDEA why just 1 of my legs is swelling and not the other? And why there is any swelling at all to begin with.
Painful swelling of legs can be due to deep vein thrombosis (DVT). DVT can be picked with doppler ultrasound. I suggest you to consult a surgeon and get doppler ultrasound done to know the cause of painful swelling.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
