The swelling of the testicles is in fact the edema of the scrotal skin ans is the first sign of water lodging in the body in the third space and will settle with time as the excess water and salts will be removed from the body. Certainly call his Doctor as he should be aware of it. Ask your brother to follow strictly the salt and water restrictions as advised. Not to apply anything locally. This will settle soon. Please inform his Doctor immediately if there is development of redness, fever or any other constitutional symptoms.
