What Causes Swollen Testicles After Starting Of Home Dialysis?

Hello, my brother just started home dialysis this week. After the 2nd day, his testicles are very swollen. What could be his problem? He is in no pain. Should he call his doctor? He also had hernia surgery there back in November. Thank you, A concerned sister.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood your history about your brother who has been put on home-dialysis this week.
The swelling of the testicles is in fact the edema of the scrotal skin ans is the first sign of water lodging in the body in the third space and will settle with time as the excess water and salts will be removed from the body.
Certainly call his Doctor as he should be aware of it.
Ask your brother to follow strictly the salt and water restrictions as advised.
Not to apply anything locally.
This will settle soon.
Please inform his Doctor immediately if there is development of redness, fever or any other constitutional symptoms.
