What Causes Swollen Throat Along With Joint Pain And Fever?

My daughter has been traveling the world. She has been in 10 countries in 3 months. In Thailand came down with swollen throat, white spots, joint pain, fever and bad poop. She has been on ammoxicillin 5x in the last 6 weeks including being in the hospital for 4 days with a medicine drip? She is now in Australia and has just come down with the same symptoms again? Help. It isn t strep throat.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to a viral infection.

I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Acetaminophen.

I recommend using Azithromycin for the throat infection. It is a prescription medication.

I also recommend using a throat spray with antibacterial properties.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
