What Causes Swollen Throat And White Spots On Tonsils After Oral Sex?

I performed oral sex on my boyfriend last night and today I looked at my slightly sore throat to find that it was swollen and there was white stuff on my tonsils. There were also reddish dots (not bumps) almost like a small hickey would look at the back on the soft pallete. We are in a monogamous relationship. Could this be an STI or my throat simply not being ised to it? What can I do to get rid of it? I just gargled with Dr. Tichenor's mouthwash a few minutes ago in an attempt to kill anything that shouldn't be there.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello and thank you for asking HCM,

I understand your concern. It seems like you are having sore throat caused by streptoccocus. It is not a sexually transmitted disease. If you are in a monogamous relationship there is no reason for fear. I suggest you to go to your GP to get antibiotics, because this is a bacterial infection. Your GP will probably give you penicillin if you are not allergic to it or azythromicin. Untill then drink a lot of fluid nd if you get fever than use some antipyretic.

I hope this answer was helpful to you.
