Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

It seems that amoxicillin is not effective in such infection. For this reason, switching to another antibiotic will be necessary. But, before coming to this conclusion, I would recommend performing a throat discharge bacterial culture, in order to identify the type of bacteria and the right antibiotic.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
