Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Swollen Tonsils After Suffering From RSV And Pneumonia?
4 year and 1 month girl. Been watching swollen tonsils for several months after a bout with RSV and pneumonia in feb. Saw ENT. Scheduled to go back next week. Tonsils have been +3 for several months. They seem to be larger but now look like the have ruptured blood vessels in them. (Much like blood shot eyes). Should we seek medical attention before our scheduled appointment? Otherwise, this child is picture of health. Not on any meds. No fever since Feb with the RSV and pneumonia. We eat a paleo diet and get plenty of sunshine and exercise. Thank you.
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, once the tonsillitis took placed then this swelled out and even after the eradication of infection tonsil remained swelled for quite long time and this may not need any treatment unless manifest breathing difficulty, hope this information helps, take care.
