What Causes Swollen Tonsils And Pressure In The Left Ear?
My question is, my left tonsil is swollen. My left ear feels like theirs air pressure in it and my left nasal passage stays clogged. This has been going on for 3 weeks now and I ve tried antibiotics, allegra D , predisone ect and nothing is helping! I went to my local ER but they don t know what it is! What s wrong with me? please I need an answer.?
Understanding your concern. Swollen tonsils and pressure in the left ear seems to be due to chronic ear infection which led to tonsillitis .Because throat and ear are connected to each other by a pair of small tubes called Eustachian tubes. The treatment will depend upon the cause. I would suggest you to take oral antibiotics at least for week, you can also use some antimicrobial ear drops, use warm compresses on ear ,do warm saline gargles and mucolytic agent like ambroxol can be taken. If condition persists for more then a week you should immediately consult ENT specialist (ear, nose, throat),who can diagnose properly and can also perform ear tube procedure .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
