What Causes Swollen Tonsils With Dark Red Streaks?

I have severely swollen tonsils with dark red streaks. It s only painful when it feels like being. Doctors ran plenty test and it s not strep. I do have serious allergies that I just developed a few months ago. I m making an appointment for the ear, nose and throat specialist. What could this be?

Hi.This may be Tonsillitis with enlargement due to chronic problems. There may be a Sinusitis as you are suffering from allergic rhinitis and sinusitis.
Go for Ct scan of noes and sinuses to find out whether there is Sinusitis or not.
If the medical management fails to respond go for Tonsillectomy and biopsy.
