What Causes Swollen Varicose Vein On The Mons Pubis During Pregnancy?

I m 30 weeks pregnant with my second child and pretty sure i ve got a varicose vein in the right side of my mons pubis. I cant see it, but there is swelling on that side and I can feel the pressure increasing when I stand up. Is this most likely the cause and is it something I need to be aware of when I have my baby?
