What Causes Swollen Veins In The Neck?

I had an ultrasound of my neck yesterday, thought I had a swollen lymph node but it turns out that I have bulging veins on my thyroid? I cannot find any information on this and what it could possibly be. I have all of the symptoms of a hypothyroidism but my numbers were good following blood work.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to consult your surgeon for clinical assessment to assess whether there is any thyroid enlargement in neck region.

In case there is palpable thyroid, a fine needle aspiration cytology will be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
