I am at work and sitting at my desk when all of a sudden, I get this intense, tapping feeling on the from of my forehead, as if someone were standing in front of me and tapping my forehead with their finger forcefully. What the heck could that be!!! Unnerving!!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Tapping or a tingling feeling on the forehead can occur due to tension headache, sinusitis, common cold, migraine. Any form of vasculitis like Temporal arteritis which occurs due to inflammation of arteries can also be the cause.

Any history of head injury in the recent past should also be ruled out. Vascular anomalies in the brain should also be ruled out. CT or MRI may be required to rule out these conditions.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
