I have a on again off again pain when I stand from sitting up close to my left bellybutton it is not persistent pain. It feels like a tearing sensation. I have had this for 5 days. I still have my appendix, but I don t think this is related to my appendix. What is your advise?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It can be related to appendix and ultrasound abdomen as well as complete blood count may be needed if a detailed abdominal examination by a general surgeon suggests so. Meanwhile OTC analgesic like acetaminophen or ibuprofen alongside anti spasmodic like drotaverine can be helpful for symptomatic relief.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
