What Causes Temporary Loss Of Vision In The Left Eye?

I have had this head problem for the last couple of months and it would only happen about once a month, but it has happened twice this week. It becomes difficult to see out of my left eye. It's like I went outside and stared into the sun and then came back inside-- but it only happens in my left eye. That will last for about ten minutes, and then afterwards I get a terrible headache in the back of my head. I wasn't sure if this is something to go see a doctor about.
