What Causes Temporary Numbness On The Outside Of Vagina?

This morning I had temporary numbness on the outside of my vagina, towards my perianal area, I hadn t had sexual intercourse, nor have had any problems vaginally. I have one child, but he was birthed cesarean. Is this normal or a sign of anything in specific?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It seems to be due to nerve involvement of cutaneous innervation as since bowel and bladder movements are unaffected so seems to be mild issue and may resolve overtime. If problem persists neurological examination and neurosurgical review may be needed for lumbosacral spine MRI etc to rule out any nerve route compression.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
