What Causes Temporary Paralytic Attack On Left Side Of The Body?

Hello.
80 year old mother, left arm "dead" for about 10 mins Sunday. Happened again on Thursday, taken to ER. Admitted for observation. Another "episode" at 4 yesterday affected left arm, up neck. Taken for CT scan which showed nothing. 3 hours later, she said her head didn't feel like it wanted to do what it was supposed to. Another episode.....entire left side affected. Took about 15 mins for paralysis to go, recovery took about an hour. Complained of headache on right side. Hospital Dr wants to keep her on blood thinner and do therapy. Carotid arteries were checked and are ok. Cannot do MRI due to pacemaker.

We, the children, are frustrated. We've asked for a neuro to consult, no one has been in yet. We would like to have her transferred to OSU for better care. Are we looking at a stroke??
