General & Family Physician, Dr. Priyanka's Response
Hi,
Tender and swollen breasts can have many causes, including hormonal changes, pregnancy, and breast infections. Since you have used protected sex and the pregnancy test was negative, it is less likely that you are pregnant. However, it is still possible that you are experiencing hormonal changes that are causing your breast symptoms.
Other factors such as stress, weight changes, and changes in medications can also cause breast changes. It is recommended that you schedule an appointment with your healthcare provider to discuss your symptoms and any concerns you may have. They may recommend further testing or evaluation to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
