What Causes Tender Lesions In Genital Area?

Yes about 4 months ago I started to notice bumps in my genital area, they were painless, and are not itchy, I did alot of researching on different symptoms and I believe I have molluscum, my question is when the virus is leaving your body can the lesions become tender and possibly burst open and leave scabs?

Hello and welcome to heathcaremagic

Molluscum presents as asymptomatic, pearly white, bumps with some of them displaying a central indentation.

Imiquimod 5% cream is a topical immunomodulator which is prescribed for topical treatment of molluscum.

Imiquimod stimulates local immunity. Since it is an irritant, therefore Molluscum lesions can become painful and eroded followed by scab formation and they ultimately fall off within a week, thus curing them.

If irritation and discomfort is bothersome, you can temporarily discontinue imiquimod for 3-5 days and then re-start again once the discomfort resolves
