Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Doc! I am female and I am 23 years old, I have been experiencing breast tenderness and pain since start of this month. I had my period on 7th then after 3 days of period, I visited my family doctor who checked my both breasts thoroughly for the presence of any lump but fortunately she didn t find any. She suggested me some medicines like pain killer, Vitamin E and Evening primrose oil that I took for 3 to 4 days and the pain got vanished. I was relaxed that it was merely a PMS but then again around 21st of this month I again started to have that feeling of pain, tenderness and also inflammation sometimes, I really don t understand why this is happening. I was little stressed when all this started. I am not Pregnant and not having hormone replacement therapy. I am nor breastfeeding neither taking any contraceptive pills. I also don t have any first or second degree relative who has been diagnosed breast or ovarian cancer. Also beside pain my breasts are normal i.e. no redness no itching no change in skin texture and nipples are erect. Please diagnose what is it.
1. Since common possibilities of breast tenderness are ruled out, as a general precaution jusy consult a Gynecologist.
2. Since it is common in 30-40 years age groups, thus i. Low salt diet. ii. Avoid chillies and oily food iii. Regular exercises- walking and abdominal/pelvic exercises. iv. Since you have taken conventional line of treatment, you may ask for prescription medicine Ovral-L to suppress ovulation.
