What Causes Tenderness And A Lump Below The Site Of Blood Draw?

I had blood drawn a week ago. Following the procedure, I developed a significant hematoma with considerable bruising and tenderness around the puncture area. Today, everything appeared normal , but my forearm (just below the puncture area) was tender, so I rubbed it, and a large mass (lump) appeared just below the surface of the puncture area. Is this something I should have checked on further?

Dear thanks for choosing HCM.

Don't worry, it a blood clot or haematoma. It is a common finding in several patients post puncture. You should have kept the puncture area compressed for 5 to 6 minutes after the puncture to avoid such thing. But now it will reduce in size on its own, may take a week or more. But this is a harmless condition.

Take care in future.

I hope I have clarified your concerns. Hit a thank. Please write to HCM for any queries. Thank you
