What Causes Tenderness And Pain In The Vaginal Area?

Hi! I started having a tender/painful vaginal area a few days ago, and it got extremely itchy, so I went to ER and got diagnosed with a yeast infection. He gave me diflucan and a prescription for cream to help with the itching and discomfort. but the biggest problem I ve noticed is my clitoral hood is extremely swollen, EXTREMELY excruciatingly painful (I can t stand up or walk or sit up), I can t even touch it, it s burns to pee because it s so swollen, and it appears as though there is hard, whitish spots under the skin on each side. What could this possibly be? And how can I relieve this?! I have a doctors appointment in three days but need relief!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Redness and white spots in the genital area do happen with a yeast infection so I would recommend you to start the treatment that the doctor gave as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, you may do baths with warm water to help with the discomfort there locally and you may use Ibuprofen 600 mg every 6 hours after food to reduce inflammation.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Regards,

Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
