What Causes Tenderness At The Base Of The Neck?

The right side front base of my neck is really tender. It s in a vertical line about three inches long but the most tender spot is towards the base end. Also there is like a grainy protruding lines sort of carti lage feeling in the same area It started to get sore about three days ago and has gotten a little worse each day. I assumed it might be anice infection of some sort or maybe a small cold coming on but I have zero fever and feel fine otherwise

Hello,

It may be a muscle spasm or spondylosis with pain or local lymphadenopathy or abscess may present like this. Use tablet tramadol with paracetamol twice a day for five days.

Once check for possible causes of pain by consulting your doctor he will take X-ray and do the local examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
