What Causes Tenderness Below The Left Ear And Left Sinus?

I have been experiencing tenderness below my left ear, and left sinus issues. The sinus issues were initially diagnosed as yeast, and I began using a nettipot with distiller water. The regular discharge persisted and an infectious disease doctor examined the discharge I collected and prescribed Albenza. Within 36 hours of the medication dose my neck lymph nodes became very tender and a general physician identified my thyroid as most tender and enlarged, and has referred me for an ultrasound. Can an infection of the sinus and rust avian tube prompt enlargement of the thyroid?

Hi,

No, but the swelling might not be thyroid. It could be an englarged lymph node and larynx due to the infection. Get a thorough ENT check up done and continue medicines in the meanwhile.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
