What Causes Tenderness In The Armpit And Recurring Chest Discomfort?

I am 58 years old, 5 9 weighing 195lbs. I don t drink or smoke and am in decent shape. I am experiencing a small area of tenderness approximately 4 inches under my left arm pit and have noticed within the last month or so when I walk up 3 flights of stairs that I am winded. I have also noticed sporadic discomfort in chest and left arm. Note that I had an Anterior C4-5 and C5-6 Diskectomy and Fusion with plating and allografts back in August 2002. This is the same arm that I had issues with before this surgery.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Please note that it appears to be cardiac related as the discomfort is exertion related. You should undergo blood pressure monitoring and stress echocardiography to access cardiac function.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
