What Causes Tenderness In The Head And Temples After A Head Injury?

Hi I got a concussion after the second impact about a week and a half ago. For about a week I continued my regular schedule and then last Sunday my symptoms began to increase. This included, dizziness, headaches and pain, little memory loss, little confusion, and nausea. I was instructed by a athletic trainer to stop all activity and to only sit and sleep, with little movement, for a week. I have done this, but my head is becoming tender to the touch on the temples, top of the head, and right where my neck and scalp meet. Do you think this could be bleeding or is this a regular symptom for a concussion?

Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the concussion. Based on the fact that you have nausea and headache I suggest to go at the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
