Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good evening...I am 60 years old and a five year cancer (oropharyngeal) survivor. Recently saw my radiation oncologist for a regular check-up and told him I wasn t feeling well. I was subsequently diagnosed with walking pneumonia. Had two rounds back to back of levoquain 500 mg first round 750 mg second round. This was in May. I am experiencing some tenderness in both Achilles tendons and have read that this is a side effect of the levoquain. Really concerned about a potential rupture. Is there anything I can do other than take it easy? Also curious as to how long I can expect this side effect to be an issue of concern for me. I m 6-00, 190 and in good general health despite the radiation and chemotherapy treatments I received in 2012. Hogfit
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You might be having tendinitis along with plantar fasciitis. You can take analgesics, like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac for pain relief. You can also take anti inflammatory drugs, like Serratiopeptidase for better results. If symptoms persist, better to consult an orthopedician and in that case you may require steroid injection.
Wishing you good health.
