What Causes Tenderness On The Knee After An Injury?
I was in a cycling accident last Friday. My right knee has a goose egg on top of it and went away within 4-5 hours. The knee is a bit tender to the touch. Top of the knee cap. There is no swelling or bruising and does not feel structurally weak. I do feel a slight pull at the top when I kneel down but not if I just bend it. Any ideas
The goose egg lump on top of knee after cycling accident indicates hematoma formation most likely due to subcutaneous bleeding collection beneath the skin layers. Though there is only little pain, do not neglect it and act promptly for best therapy to avoid secondary bacterial infection and complications. - Apply ice 3-4 times a day 5 minutes each. - Avoid prolong standing and weight bearing. - Avoid driving and sudden jerks. - Get prescription of antibiotics as penicillin or cephalosporin for coverage of gram positive bacteria with anti inflammatory as Ibuprofen with serratiopeptidase which will help in hematoma dissolution as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
