General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanks for the query. I have read & understood your concern. The pain in knee surface is mostly due to problem in bones, tendons & specially cartilage surfaces surrounding the knee cap. These parts are under too much of stress / force of weight bearing, while sports like running. .. leading to tissue break down . These now respond to touch / light pressure as pain. when tiny nerves in skin are affected the pain might present as tingling pain. When the force applied is more & vigorous / not attended & neglected ,deeper tissues are involved.. joint problems are liable to arise... * Management consists of physiotherapy for strengthening Quadriceps muscles. When the muscle is powerful.. it bears body weight while sports activity & the knee cap is relieved of pain & damage is recovered over the time...& more damage to cap is prevented. Medicines like Ibuprofen / calcium/ vitamin D can be taken with doctors advise . Thanks. Thanks.
