What Causes Testicle To Twist When Sitting For Long Time?
I have a varicocele and my left testicle sometimes twists sideways after sitting for extended periods of time. It is never painful, but it seems abnormal. It doesn't immediately correct itself when I stand up, but will eventually put itself back into place. Is this a problem? What should I do?
The varicocele has increased the vascularity and lengthened the spermatic cord, hence allowing the testis to rotate freely. There is a theoretical danger of torsion of testis which require urgent surgery. I would advise you to go for color doppler examination of the scrotum, semen analysis and surgery for varicocele and shortening of the cord and fixation of the testis.
