dear doctor i m on insulin with 14/16 units per day,have started taking nutilite fiber by amway and my FBS today shows at 157,whereas before taking nutrilite it was 132,pl advice my age is 51 yrs ht 5.11,wt 80kgs Am on the following medecines 1) Novomex 30 - 14/16 units two times a day 2) Vobglibose tab -.2 with breakfast 3) Thiamine tabs once a day 4)Ecosprin - 75 once a day 5)X pril - 5 mg once a day 6) Rosuvastatin-10mg once a day
Dear sir, Please do not panic with one abnormal reading. Keep checking your FBS, PPBS frequently and if it remains high i think you need to adjust your dose of insulin. Unfortunately we do not have details on type of diabetes, your age, duration of diabetes. Assuming that you are a type 2 diabetic i see that there are no tablets except voglibose for diabetes. i would generally prefer to add tablets and keep insulin dose to minimum or stop insulin completely as you are on a very low dose of insulin. Now coming to your main question of nutrilite fibre, the company claims its beneficial in diabetes. But in my practice my experience is that patient do well without nutrilite. Its a fiber based drink so i dont think that might be the only reason for your sugar increase. Hope i answered your query
