What Causes The Cystic Acne Along The Jaw Line?

The gland under my chin is commonly enlarged and has been on and off for the past year. When it is enlarged I tend to have cystic acne along the jaw line and the side of my cheeks near my ears. I am 30 years old, 140 pounds and 5' 6. I exercise 6 days a week and eat a vegetarian diet plus fish. I feel the healthiest I have in my life except for this issue.

Hi

You are basically developing cystic acne. Now such type of lesions along the jaw line in paticular necessitates the hormonal evaluation of the patient.
I would like to tell you that you should see a nearby dermatologist and get a complete assessment done. Although adult onset cystic acne is a difficult to manage entity but still there are many treatment options available for the same in the form of retinoid therapy and other anti acne agents.
