What Causes The Feeling Of Lump In The Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing?

hello. i m a 22 year old female. i ve had some very bothersome health problems over the last year. things have become much worse in the last few months. i suffer from nausea without vomiting after eating, this occurs probably 85% of the time. i have had some trouble swallowing at times as well and sometimes i feel as if i have a lump in my throat for many hours after eating. i ve been getting headaches for the last 2 years mostly above my eyes especially the right eye. i just feel not well and fatigued most of the time. my latest symptom is dizziness. it doesn t happen all the time but it s enough to be bothersome. this is not normal for me, i m too young to feel this way. my doctor has ordered a gallbladder ultrasound and i had an upper gi series where i swallowed the barium. i haven t got any results back yet. i had a CT scan of my head in december 2009. i obtained the results which said There is no evidence of acute intracranial hemorrhage, mass effect, midline shift, intra or extra axial fluid collection present. No enhancing intraparenchymal lesions. Mildly prominent presumed venous lake and small plexus is identified in the posterior left parietal bone likely representing some collateral circulation. A small 5 mm focus of soft is identified in the superficial posterior scalp which could indicate a small hemangioma, however other etiologies cannot be completely excluded at this time. Clinical correlation is recommended. The ventricles, sulci, and cisterns are normal in appearance. Gray white differentiation is maintained. No acute infarct identified. No evidence of a calvarial fracture is seen. The visualized sinuses appear clear. My doctor told me that my CT scan was normal . Does that sound like it s totally normal? My mother died of a very aggressive brain tumor when she was 32 years old. She was diagnosed at 25 years old. I guess I m a little paranoid. What do you think?

it is a common mild psychological problem or may be related to reflux of food from stomach on to the food canal or esophagus.

it is called globus hystericus or lump feeling in the throat

all reports are generally normal and one needs an upper G.I endoscopy to see if there is any infection in the esophagus!

consult some psychiatrist if the report is normal too!

all the best............
