What Causes The Feeling Of Lump In Throat Along With Irritation?
Hi! I am a 22 year old smoker (recently reduced to 10 a day) I am having these symptoms: Lump in throat (more like a wound, because when I try to drag saliva out of my throat a little blood comes out and when I drink salt water that particular wound (lump) starts burning like if you put salt on your wound) with no pain, just irritation From time to time I have an acidy taste in mouth My middle upper part of chest hurts when I press it and has been that way for at least a month and half Bloods taken and result is fine, chest xray taken and is fine. I am only worried of cancer, what are the chances?
As you are a heavy smoker, a thorough examination of the throat including a laryngoscopy is a must. If required, a biopsy of the lesion is indicated to rule out any malignancy. Acidic taste in the mouth and pain in the middle upper part of the chest may be a sign of hyper-acidity. An antacid or some PPI like Omeprazole or Pantoprazole may be effective for these symptoms. Endoscopy of the upper GIT may also be indicated for these symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
