What Causes The Feeling Of The Medicine Moving Upward Rather Than Down?

I took an over the counter pill to help me sleep, it went up instead of down. Feels like every time I swallow it goes higher up, have tried to make my self gag to see it moves, no luck. Fairly large pill about the size of an 800 mg ibuprofen.. What can I do?

You didn't give medicine name, so difficult to comment. And the thing is why you are in need of such pills. As sleeping pills without doctor's prescription and advice is harmful. So please be careful and consult your doctor and discuss the problem for solution.
