What Causes The Feeling Of Vomiting After Smoking A Cigarette?

Hello Doctors, I have been noticing that for the past 6 months or so that almost every time I smoke a cigarette I get an urge to vomit. This occurs half way though the cigarette and results in dry heaving. I have been a smoker for about 15 years and this has only been happening for about 6 months or so. The dry heaving is not accompanied by actual nausea, sweating, or other symptoms associated with vomiting. However, I have never vomited, just uncontrollable dry heaves. Thank you for your time.

without an exam, I can only give general information, and, unless the cigarettes have changed, then obviously something changed with you !
Cannot say in your particular case but liver disease certainly can cause nausea (so can the addition of other medications). But a psychological origen is probably more common. One can be upset that one is smoking and this can trigger nausea.
