Hello,
The finding of blood around the embryo means that there is perhaps some subchorionic hemorrhage and this could be the cause of the inability to detect the fetal cardiac activity, which is normally see at this age of gestation. Hope is good since the outline of the gestation sac is not distorted. Absolute bed rest is mandatory. Please repeat the sonogram, preferably in the trans-vaginal route, after another week. Simultaneous study of serial serum beta-hCG titres adds to the study. Progressive pregnancies record doubling titres every 2-3 days. Hope this helps.
