What Causes The Frequent Urge To Urinate?

Frequent feeling of urination in the tip of my penis. Urination is pain free but sometimes nothing comes out because bladder is empty. Urologist has me on cipro. Already took 10 days of doxycycline but symptoms came right back after being off it. He thinks it is prostatitis. Could it be something else?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Your symptoms could be due to UTI, prostatitis.
Prostatitis can be present as intermittent UTI symptoms.
I would suggest to consult the urologist and undergo urine tests, culture, sensitivity, Serum PSA and USG scan to confirm the cause.
Doctor will give following advise for the prostatitis:
Medication: alpha blockers, anti inflammatory drugs in addition to antibiotics, physical therapy, trans-urethral microwave thermotherapy etc.
Do regualr masturbation and sex.
Drink plenty of water, juice of cranberry, orange and pineapple
Take hot water bath
Further treatment will depend upon result of these tests and final diagnosis.
Hope this may help you
