What Causes The Inflammation Of The Clitoris?

Hello, I have recently started foreplay with my boyfriend, and after two heavy petting sessions my clitoris is very inflamed swollen and hurts to touch, and one side of it is very red. I have looked on the internet and it says things about yeast infections but there is no discharge? Thanks
