What Causes The Outbreak Of Red Itchy Hives On The Legs?

Hi! A few days ago, I got a couple of mosquito bites on my left foot. I itched them for a minute, and then put on an anti-allergic cream. The next day, the whole area had reddened. Seeing as I thought it was because of the bites, I put on more allergy cream, but at the end of the day the area had swelled and I realized that it was the cream that was problematic. Then, hives/bullae started forming on my foot around my big and small toes. I started taking Prednisone yesterday at the recommendation of a doctor, but today the hives/bullae are a bit bigger. What do I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to contact dermatitis caused by the cream. I suggest continue the steroids as prescribed by your doctor.
I also suggest using a steroid cream such as Betametasone cream.
I recommend cool showers for relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards!
