What Causes The Pink Line On Ovulation Strip To Fade Away?

I have PCOS and I am also diagnised with hyperandrogen. But my doctor feels it is not so high . I have regular cycles ranging from 32-35 days. I am trying to get pregnant for the last 1 year. I had HSG dye test and saline sonogram -everything is fine. My doctor is suspecting that I have anovulatory cycles and I am prescribed with 50mg clomid last month. From day 10-13 I had a little pink line on the ovulation strips which disappeard by day 16. When I went for an ultrasound scan on day 14 the follicle was only 14mm wide. I ovulated on day 36 and as suspected I couldnt get pregnant. This month I am on 100mg Clomid. I saw a pink line on ovulation strip thick enough but lighter than the reference line on day 10 but it is again fadind away. I had my ultrasound today and I have a 20mm follicle. The doctor is hopeful that the dose of clomid is good. but I am concerned about the fading pink line on my ovulation strip day after day. This doesnt make any sense to me. How could my LH start and then stop and again all of a sudden increase at the later point of time.

Hi,

The fading of the pink line on an ovulation strip could be due to a few different factors. One possibility is that the LH surge, which triggers ovulation, may have been too short in duration to register on the ovulation strip. This could be due to a variety of factors, such as a lower-than-expected LH surge, or testing at the wrong time of day. Another possibility is that the test strip may not be sensitive enough to detect the LH surge at lower levels.

It is also possible that the fading pink line could be due to issues with the quality of the ovulation strip itself, such as exposure to light or moisture. It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for storing and using the ovulation strips and to use strips that have not expired.

In terms of your fertility treatment, it is important to discuss any concerns or questions with your doctor. Your doctor may be able to provide additional guidance or testing to help understand why you are not getting pregnant. It may also be helpful to track your menstrual cycles and ovulation using basal body temperature monitoring or other methods, to get a better sense of when ovulation is occurring and to help identify any patterns or issues that may be affecting your fertility.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
