What Causes Thickening Of Myometrium With Endometriosis?
I had a transvaginal scan and an ultrasound scan 2 weeks ago, I had a letter today saying the pelvic scan shows some thickening of the myometrium, the myometrium appears slightly heterogeneous however no focal lesion seen, I have also had endometriosis for about 13 years, I m 38 now, what does it mean?
Since you had endometriosis since 13 years and now the myometrium is heterogenous means it could be related to endometriosis only. Adenomyosis is a condition of endometriosis within myometrium and it can present like this in scan. If you don't have symptoms you can wait and do follow up scan after 6 months to know the present status.
Since there is no significant fibroid or gross increase in size of uterus you can wait and do follow up later. I hope my answer helps you. Regards
