What Causes Throat Discomfort While Swallowing Pills?

I have had issue with feeling like something is stuck in throat, especially when taking pills ! I ve seen the gamut of specialists the past 3 years. I have thyroid and Adrenal nodes but DRs don t seem concerned. It has progressed to what Dr said is DES, was actually confirmed by Radiologist and Dr says it s rare to actually see and validate. After 2 years of episodes of ER visits thinking I m having heart attack, throat feels like cotton ball stuck in throat. Past 6 months I have had Severe ongoing Spasms from throat to rectum lasting weeks at a time, becoming more painful the longer they last, severe enough I go to ER thinking I have heart attack!

Hello,

It could be due to conditions like pharyngitis. As first line management, you can do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
