What Causes Throat Pain And Cold Sensation In Head While Having Hard Lumps In Throat?

Good Night Dr.Rynne, Over the last 3-4 years I have been experiencing sinus flares and nasal drips. My ENT indicated to me that the back of my throat has some hard lumps , which is the result of the reoccurrence of the condition . He assured me it is not cancerous, but it is quite worrying as I have a head cold now and my throat is painful.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain hard lumps in throat with a history of Sinusitis and nasal drops seems to be due to Granular Pharyngitis and it is a non cancerous condition..
Head cold and sore throat can be due Viral infection causing common cold..
I would suggest you to take a course of antibiotics like Augmentin or Azithromycin, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and use a humidifier in your room..
Avoid spicy and hard foods..
In case if the bumps does not resolve a biopsy can be diagnostic and of it is Granular Pharyngitis lazer treatment can be done to remove the bumps..
