What Causes Throat Pain Upon Swallowing Food?

I feel pain in my throat (adams apple and thyroid area) and also when swallowing food. While massaging the region, I also heard a popping sound and pain increased. An ENT doctor couldn t see anything with a fiberoptic laryngoscopy (camera in my nose to see my throat). I see several related posts in this regard, any recommendations? Thanks.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to minor inflammation in the throat.

As the laryngoscopes are fine, nothing much to worry and there is no tumor or growth in the throat.

As a first line management, you can do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
