What Causes Throat Pain While Eating Food?

I have had randomly-occurring bouts of what I can only assimilate to Food Bolus Impaction, as the symptoms for this condition seem to closely match mine. After about 2 or 3 bites of food, the food will seem lodged in my throat and is extremely painful. While I am able to breathe, swallowing is near impossible and I am salivating profusely. The episode I am currently having is lasting well over an hour, which is longer than most episodes I have had. The last episode was about a month ago, so it isn t chronic. But this is very painful and I am worried.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Before eating food drink some water, mouth, and throat may be dry. Some time as soon as food goes to esophagus suddenly stimulating peristaltic movements may cause choking and pain. So drink water slowly take ffod.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
