What Causes Throat Pain?

what up doc. So noticed this a couple days ago. My throat hurts.. but not the inside it s more like the outside of my throat hurts and feels really tender when I touch it or if I tilt my head up and swallow. It feels more like a muscle pain rather than a sore throat. Any idea what it is?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Throat pain may be a mucosal pain or infection or reflux pain etc.
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.
Please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and do endoscopy, treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
