What Causes Throat Pain, stiff Neck And Loss Of Voice?

I have had a severe stabbing pain in my upper back and collar bone and today my throat on the same side started hurting (pretty bad), and ear. Neck is stiff on that side and I can barely speak. What do you think could be wrong? ALso, I just finished antibiotics last week for strep throat.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are suggestive of upper respiratory tract infection.

Your infection might not be resolved by an antibiotic course.

So you need to evaluate further with CBC, throat swab culture and Otoscopy ear examination for further workup.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
