What Causes Throat Soreness Post Treatment For Tonsillitis?

Hi...30 year old female...I was just treated for tonsillitis last week.. I had fevers of 103 , swollen tonsils and glands, and aches from head to toe.... all the symptoms cleared up. Except yesterday and today my throat is really sore... pain is relieved with ibeprophen and tylenol, but only for a short time. Also my left ear has a small pressure pain. I m wondering if this is normal after treatment or if it is worse?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
After going through your complaints, it seems that the infection is still not cleared completely.
Sore throat and ear ache are residual symptoms post- tonsillectomy.
You have to do salt water gargling with warm water thrice a day. Use nasal decongestants tablet or syrup twice a day. Residual infection should come down in a couple of days.
If any of the symptoms worsens, you need to take help from ENT specialist immediately.
