What Causes Throat Tightness And Hardness While On Lexapro?

i am taking lexopro generic. I notice that my throat feels tight and it is hard to swallow pills. Should I stop taking it. I have been taking it for one and a half weeks, Started with 10 mg for one week and was told to take the whole pill of 20 mg after the first week. I do notice constipation also. I am a recovering from ovarian cancer and not in remission yet. Please advise if I should continue with this drug. Thanks

Allergist and Immunologist 's  Response
Hi,

You should interrupt the treatment with Lexapro. What you described might be a drug reaction. You should contact your doctor and I think he will substitute Lexapro with another antidepressant for you to be safe and not risk another reaction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
